Welcome to International Rocket Week 2012 (IRW 2012),
Monday 20th to Monday 27th August.
The 27th Annual Rocket Flying Event in Scotland.
Base Camp at the Lapwing Lodge Outdoor Centre, near Paisley.
Last year for the IRW 2011 Base Camp the event moved to the Lapwing Lodge Outdoor Centre, located on Gleniffer Braes, above the town of Paisley (home of the Paisley Rocketeers’ Society, 1936 to 2005). The Camping Field and the domestic facilities at Lapwing Lodge – Toilets, Showers, Dish Washing Area, Laundry, and the Camp Fire Circle, where the traditional IRW Barbeque was held on the Sunday evening, all provided very satisfactory accommodation for the majority of last year’s IRW participants (a few stayed elsewhere), and an excellent base of operations.
